Exigence - or - Why I Felt the Need to Create this Blog

12 August 2012.

Wow. 6th Edition is here, and I feel like it incorporated many facets of our house rules here are the Lower Register.

Go us. GW, you can have those for free.

Plz look for some updates soon as I try to figure out how my precious BA will fit in to the world of Overwatch and Random Charging distances. Gotta say, so far, I am loving the idea of 5 attacks per Death Company Marine (2 base, 2 for charging, 1 for extra weapon).

Why Lower Register? Pedro and I started playing various wargames about five years ago, but found that we just didn't have time to complete standard games. We, along with our limited pool of playing partners, decided that we would become good at skirmish games that we could enjoy on a regular basis. So, over time we amassed a body of experience in Kill Team, Warmachine, Infinity, and other such games. This blog is the natural outgrowth of that experience, and our desire to share it with you all.

Infinity Holocard with stats

Pedro here reporting out our Orktoberfest experience. Well actually I am here to talk about 1 thing and that is Infinity. We tried it out during Orktoberfest and loved it so much that we ended up playing in the vast majority of the time. The only other game we played was an introduction game of Warmachine. Don't get wrong we loved Warmachine as well, in fact one thing that we loved about it was the statcards. So that got me thinking, why not build statcards for Infinity?

With the help of my wife and alot patience I was able to pull this together. Would love to get your feedback on the design!

  1. I think that they look perfect. You've taken all of the possible rules that apply to the Fusiliers and placed them all in one place. No flipping through pages trying to figure out what a medkit does or the range of the MULTI Sniper Rifle

I especially like how you have the ranges on the front cards, and then other attributes (ammo, temp, E/M, CC) on the reverse side.

The only think that I can think to add is the pistol and the knife (DAM = PH-2); although, I am not certain how relevant the knife is if you can use the pistol in CC...

BTW, I did a little mock-up army using only Fusiliers. With 150 points, you could have 23 some-odd Fusiliers (and orders) in an army. Should I be worried?

FYI, I ninja edited your post to resize the cards for my poor eyes.

  2. Really nice. IT would be great to have all weapon in one place though...consider changing the range categories to something simpler. LIke just writing s, m, l, e for the category titles and then just max range for each category instead of 0-4, 4-8, etc.

  3. You should fear the Fusilier! But dont get your math, I can only fit 15 Fusiliers in a 150 point game @ 10 pts apiece.

Thanks for the feedback on the card. I will incorporate the changes so I can fit the entire gun spec on the front of the card.

  4. Yeah, my math is terrible. 15 it is. And 15 orders. Yowzah! Where the heck did I get 23 from?

I think that the arrangement is already just fine.

Let me guess... 1 card for your whole army?

  5. You should be afraid of the Fusilier! However there are so many neat toys that fielding a vanilla army of fusiliers would be no fun! Plus one TO como unit would be hard to hit without spec visor help. All this being said they are the base of the PanO so you should expect to see a couple.

  6. Infinity is an amazing game. Be careful though as it gets addicting! As far as an army list, I recommend simply going with the models that looks best to you. Infinity is a very internally consistent game so there really aren't any "bad" model choices in game terms.
